Ideal You: A You-nique Journey to Health

I learned about IdealYou when my mother in law introduced it to me as a way to lose and keep off weight. Curious, I accompanied her to a local health center, and attended a consultation.

Ever since I got married, I have been struggling with my weight, and feeling insecure because of it. I’m sure many can relate, especially when trying so many ways to lose weight, and nothing working. I’m willing to try anything at this point.

Two months later, I’m happy to say that I have lost around 25 pounds, and I feel healthier than I have ever been. Ideal You is a skeleton version of the paleo diet, in my humble opinion, where I have to eat fruits, veggies, and meat. The lose phase, the first phase of the diet lasted 40 days, and now I’m in the ‘lock in’ phase where I have to maintain my weight. I’m not only maintaining my weight right now, but I’m still losing weight, so I’m pretty happy!

Whilst in each of these stages, I have the support of some caring professionals who monitor my weight, and give me encouraging feedback, and act as some of my biggest cheerleaders. Every two weeks just about, I have appointments that measure my progress, and tomorrow, I have my next one.

While entering into my third week of “lock in”, I am thinking about how I want to eat and live after the program, and my mind keeps coming back to the paleo lifestyle. It seems to make the most sense, because I’m already eating only fruits, veggies, and meats, and now some nuts, seeds, and some dairy alternatives, like almond milk.
